The BMW 3 Series Coupé
The new BMW 3 Series Coupé, typical of all BMWs, is a truly outstanding two-door athlete that continues a long BMW coupé tradition. It's a very special BMW 3 Series yet, at the same time, a completely unique car.
The new coupé comes standard with a six-speed manual gearbox. The 3.0 litre straight-six with Twin Turbo technology, High-Precision Injection and an all-aluminium crankcase is super-awesome on the road.
With high-performance power of 225kW, you can be assured to be rolling in style. Available with a large number of high-tech solutions for audio, navigation and telematics purposes (features originally developed for the luxury performance cars and now making their way into this segment for the first time), both the 325i and 335i models start at the press of a button.
The fully-fledged four-seater interior is luxurious, with a storage compartment in the middle separating the two individual seats at the back.
The frontal, hip, thorax and curtain head airbags, belt latch tensioners and belt force limiters are all activated by sensor-controlled safety electronics as a function of the type and severity of a collision.
This luxury will cost you between R342 500 (for a 325i) and R488 500 (for a 335i).
The Alfa Romeo Brera
Another new sport coupé is the Alfa Romeo Brera, a unique, exclusive car with Italian elegance to turn heads on the road.
The inside is well-lit and highly sophisticated. It has a fixed glass roof that allows a lot more light into the car. The dashboard houses a built-in radio and controls for the automatic dual zone climate control system.
The six-speaker sound system boasts a radio and MP3 player. The Brera comes as a 2.2, 136kW or a 3.2V6, 191kW unit, both with JTS direct injection petrol unit, to boost engine performance, and standard with a manual gearbox.
The Alfa Brera offers a sporty attitude, a comfortable drive and a state-of-the-art Alfa Q4 four-wheel drive system on the 3.2, which implements permanent, dynamic torque distribution over all four wheels to achieve the highest levels of active safety and sportiness.
The new model also sports a rain sensor (automatically activates the windscreen wipers at the first drops of rain); a dusk sensor (turns the headlights on when the car enters a tunnel); and front and rear sensors (make parking easier).
A sophisticated built-in protection system ensures anti-lift, anti-break-in and anti-theft. It can mechanically disconnect the lock and the inside and outside handles of the doors, even if the window is broken.
The Alfa Romeo Brera 3.2 V6 Q4 costs around R485 000 and the Alfa Romeo Brera 2.2 JTS around R395 000
