Beauty reviews: The men's range

We've decided to let our partners test a few manly products. Here's what they had to say...

Six months to look great!

If you want to have great hair, lips and eyes, you have to start some six months before.
We like to think anything goes on your wedding day – that you can choose a wedding style as natural or outrageous as you are. That said, here are a few guidelines we've come to believe in:

  • Go for a complete, co-ordinated wedding look – your hair, dress and make-up should all complement each other.

  • Don't change your look radically for your wedding day.

  • Have a hair and make-up rehearsal.

Most of the styles featured in the Bride24 Beauty gallery can be done at home – but, if you have the budget, a professional hairstylist and make-up artist (see the Health & Beauty Services Directory) will take the guesswork, and the stress, out of getting your wedding look perfect. To really shine on the day, start your beauty routine well in advance.

    6 months before

  • Try out a new haircut, or new colour. Get these touched up two weeks before the wedding.
  • Start a good cleansing routine for your skin.

    4 months before

  • Find hair and make-up artists you like and book them for your wedding. Do a trial run a month beforehand.
  • Try out self-tanners, at home or at a salon, keeping the lines of your dress in mind. Also, test how colourfast the tan is.

    2 months before

  • Have your teeth cleaned, and cut down on things like coffee and cigarettes (for a sparkling white smile).
  • Try out a facial or cleansing mask, and check how your skin reacts. We advise that you have a final facial not less than a week before the big day... so your skin will have time to recover.

  • Ask an expert
