Riders will get to experience three different out and back loops from an Absa Cape Epic-style race village set at Sanddrift, on the banks of the Dwars River, taking them through some of the most spectacular scenic locations in the Cederberg, Western Cape.
The daily race distance varies between 60-90 km through the beautiful Cederberg Conservancy, covering almost 172 000 ha that offers a mix of gravel roads, rocky jeep and single tracks, spectacular rock formations and fynbos – a must see for all nature-lovers.
The Cederberg Escape will provide full support around the race, including tented accommodation in race village, carbo-loaded breakfasts and dinners as well as a bike shop.
Kevin Vermaak, founder and director of the Cape Odyssey and Absa Cape Epic, says: "We aim to again deliver an unforgettable mountain bike and African travel experience. Don't be deceived – the Cederberg Escape includes some challenging riding on rugged terrain with plenty of single track, but after a day's hard riding you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings that the Cederberg has to offer."
