Runners compete in teams of two and must stay together at all times or risk a time penalty. Teams can register in four different categories including Ladies, Men, Mixed and Masters (both runners must be 40 years +). The minimum age of participation is 18 on the day the race starts.
At each stage, the winners of the day will receive prizes and the leaders in the overall classification will receive their Leader Vests. After the last stage, individual times will be calculated to reveal the overall winners.
The Cape Odyssey is brought to you by the organisers of the world's premier mountain bike stage race and the most globally televised mountain bike event of all time, the Absa Cape Epic presented by adidas. The organisers aim to deliver an unforgettable running and African travel-experience. Runners can focus on covering the daily distance and the experienced event crew will take care of everything else, including tented accommodation in race villages, water points en route, and medical assistance.
