Make a date with yourself
We all need some time out to renew our energy and transform aspects of our life that no longer work. So make a date with yourself and follow these steps.

Set aside a day to nurture yourself with a relaxing home day spa. You'll need the following items for your extremely invigorating me time session:

  • A journal

  • Body scrub

  • Aromatherapy oils that meet your needs for the bath

  • Colourful candles

  • A good self help book or chic lit book to read after you have had your bath.

  • You may even want to dedicate the day to eating fresh fruit and salads to detox the body. Remember to drink lots of water so that you can flush the system.

    Start the day by going outside and just enjoying nature whilst breathing in the fresh morning air. You can sit for a while in reflection on what you wish to accomplish over the next few months. Write down the personal goals that you wish to achieve within a certain time period in your journal. Look at the areas in your life that need fine tuning whilst setting these goals. These can be broken down into: love, family, fun, spiritual, personal development and finance. In this way you’ll get greater clarity on where you need to pay more attention.

    This exercise can be followed by your body scrub, and whilst you carry out this procedure visualise all the negative emotions, beliefs and attitudes being washed away.

    Then light your candles and relax in your aromatherapy bath for a time period that is comfortable to you. Honour yourself for all your wonderful qualities and the things in your life that you can be thankful for.

    Spend the remaining time in your day reading the book that you have purchased.

    End the day by creating an affirmation that you can repeat to yourself every morning. Some examples include:

    "I release all my worries about my future. All is well in my life."

    "I choose to smile and positively connect with others. This makes me feel wonderful."

    "The doors to my happiness are open. I am excited about my future."

    Have one of these dates with yourself on a regular basis and you will feel a difference in all aspects of your life.
