Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Candace Bushnell (author of Sex and the City), Lipstick Jungle chronicles the lives of three dynamic and high-powered friends as they weather the ups and downs of their lives in order to stay at the top of their game.

The premise of Lipstick Jungle seems to follow a similar thread to the more renowned Sex and the City, the only difference being that the women are older, richer and have the kind of high-powered status that the girls in Sex and the City seemingly never had.

Premiering in South Africa in September this year, this comedy drama sees Brooke Shields, Kim Raver and Lindsay Price cast in the roles of the three glamorous, successful and ?ber powerful women loving, winning, losing and bonding in the city that never sleeps.

Armed with confidence, plenty of Dutch courage and bouts of humour, these modern New York women support and bolster each other through triumphs and tears that all seem to form part of making it big in The Big Apple.

Also starring in Lipstick Jungle are Andrew McCarthy, David Norona, Paul Blackthorne and Robert Buckley.

Getting to know the ladies?
Former child star, Brooke Shields plays the role of Wendy Healy, top executive at movie production house, Parador Pictures.

A mother, wife, best friend and career woman, Wendy struggles to keep a balance between the various aspects of her life, while still making time for her marriage.

Will things work out for the busy executive who has to juggle so many things at once? We'll have to wait and see?

Kim Raver portrays the role of Nico Reilly, Editor-in-Chief of Bonfire, a pop-culture magazine for entertainment, fashion and politics.

Although she's a hard-as-nails and a tough business woman, she longs for real love. Having given up on hope with her inattentive husband who has secrets of his own, she decides to look elsewhere for love she so desperately craves.

But life has a way of interrupting and things take an unexpected turn for the hardnosed career woman who will soon need plenty of girly support from her friends?

Starring as the single and free-spirited fashion designer Victory Ford is Lindsay Price.

A once up-and-coming, celebrated fashion designer, Victory has to pick up the pieces after her fall collection was slated by the New York Times. Helping her to get back on her feet are her friends and the new man in her life, billionaire Joe Bennett.

One still has to wonder, with all this help, if her business will be restored to its former glory? Who knows, but having a billionaire boyfriend at your side is certainly a huge help isn't it?

Meeting the boys of Lipstick Jungle?
What would life be without a little competition? Portraying the role of Mike Harness, hard-nosed competitor and rival of Nico (Kim Raver) is David Basche.

Smart, ruthless and willing to do anything to inch his way up the publishing empire, Mike is one tough competitor.

Is it good enough to get him all the way to the top and take over the reign from Hector Matrick? And most importantly, will Nico allow him to?

Opting to be a stay-at-home father of two, Shane finds himself trying to carve his own niche in the business world, without it interfering on his ambitious wife's career.

... then there's some serious eye-candy for the ladies in the form of Robert Buckley. This hottie plays, Kirby Atwood, the younger man who as a passionate affair with Nico Reilly (Kim Raver).

While we don't think that Lipstick Jungle, described as being a watered down version of Sex and the City, will ever reach the same heights that SATC did, this comedy drama seems to be holding it's own and is scheduled for a second season.
