Surviving Survivor: week 9

Loved last week's episode. Our Wednesday routine has become quite set. The boys and I make pasta and a time-consumingly complicated sauce, so that dinner is ready late, in time for the start of Survivor and when the boys are ravenous enough to eat a complicated sauce.

And even Ben stopped picking out the peas to glue his eyes to the screen when we thought our beloved Mandla's head might be on the block. How happy were we when hein decried that it should be Loretta instead?

Hurrah! Now we are just hoping she can 'one potato, two potato' better than Hein. - Sam

Hey I watched!

The immunity challenge was really well thought out and the most exciting thing I've seen on the season so far. I loved how with each step people were eliminated - it just made the game that much more fun and intense. But the necklace is grotesque! I can't imagine why anyone would want it around their neck. I suppose, if it meant that I was closer to winning a million, I might consider wearing it too. It's a pity Dyke won it.

Way to go with the cliffhanger ending but I don't want to see Hein go. Like with Mzi in the last season, I really think that the real survivors should win the series. I'm hoping Hein pulls through. - Adele

Hello? What the hell were they thinking last week? I was sooo pissed when they left us hanging like that. It's Survivor. Someone's supposed to leave every week. Are they nuts?

I happened to attend the Men's Health Look awards on Thursday night last week, and Mark Baily was the MC, I was so close to going up to him and giving him a piece of my mind. Food24's editor Ilze had to hold me back. Watch it Mark, next time Ilze won't be there to save you.

Who do I hope leaves? Well, I'm kinda hoping Hein leaves, I don't know why but I prefer Loretta. Who do I wish had left? Angie. What is this girl still doing here? Angie and Amanda are probably the most irritating contestants on Survivor ever!

So ja, lets all keep fingers crossed that Hein counts incorrectly tonight. Plus, who's idea was the crappy tie-breaker challenge. Arrgghhh! Oh, and have you seen the new Women24? She's lovely isn't she? - Anthea

I know! The boys and I were gutted! Anthea gets extra points for really caring, and for shamelessly plugging our redesign. Good job, Ant. You can come watch at my place tonight.

Surviving Survivor: week 9

Aside from the tribal merge - new name is Empu - I wasn't that enthralled by this episode, yet again. After returning from Dead Man's Island, I was hoping for the episode to leave me wanting more.

Instead I am trying to figure out why no one has seen the light to vote off - and in this order - Amanda and Angie. Why oh why are they voting off the strongest and most bearable people like Hein and Lorette? And yes, that was a rhetorical question and not meant to be answered with "cause they are the strongest."

The 'cliffhanger' at the end irritated me as it's Survivor, not Alias. If I wanted a cliffhanger ending for a show, I would go and re-watch my entire box-sets of Alias. We are suppossed to know who gets booted not wait for a week! - Robyn

Robyn loses points for being naive enough to think Survivors win Survivor. Robs, have you ever watched one of these before? They NEVER win.

How am I suppose to expand on this episode when my brain is still stuck in the last 5 minutes of the show?

A new day on both beaches sees the tribes rather relaxed. The reward challenges sees the merge and the tribes are united as Empu. Hein shows he's still a contender even though still injured, well done to Mandla though - you deserved the good nights sleep.

Along with being a new tribe they get a new island which it seems is literally the land of milk and honey. Lorette holds her your own against the men in the immunity challenge though Dyke won immunity.

Now who will it be? I didn't want either of those two to go but if I have to choose - I want Hein to stay. - Neldri

Our Survivor expert is snowed under with work so in the spirit of 'providers' Hein and Dyke... Raiël has gone fishing...

Raiël? Won't it be embarrassing if the guy with a Survivor blog was kicked out of our couch challenge because of non-performance? Just a thought...
