Surviving Survivor: week 7
With the women24 staffers fighting between themselves, Sam's forced to step in...

"The boys and I watched avidly last week, although Ben had a little moment with the 'eat the fish eyes' challenge. (He is a fussy eater himself, and it really pushed his boundaries beyond avoid scrambled egg and tomatoes.)

We all screamed at Mandla to duck down like Dyke during the challenge, until we realised that he's too built to be that kind of agile. Pity. At least it didn't come back to bite him at Tribal Council.

Glad to see the back of Lisa. She really bugged me." – Sam

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Yes, here I am again... Sam decided to force me back onto the couch last week after I was hoping to be kicked off. Anyway, there's no point in moaning now is there?

Ok, so I actually enjoyed last week's episode. Lazy Lisa finally got the boot! After how many episodes already? Geez, it took them long enough. That was my 'happy moment'.

My 'grossed-out moment' was of course the eating challenge. Eeuuww, I can't believe they're still giving Survivor contestants these crap tasks. Come on, we don't really want to see people eating eyes now do we?

And then the 'aahhh sweet moment' was of course when the tribe who had the goat gave the other tribe some ribs to eat (sorry, I still don't know the tribe names). That was sickeningly sweet, shame. The 'funny moment'? The whole toilet issue obviously. After all that goat meat, something had to give, and the lack of a toilet was the first problem. It was funny. I would have thought that by now the tribes would have figured out a toilet system.

See, I could never be on Survivor. I can't even go camping because I don't use communal toilets. I need my own shower and bathroom thank you very much. I know no other life. And finally, the 'most stupid moment' was Hein's mock shark attack. That was so stupid and childish. Sigh. Boys will be boys I suppose.

I'm actually looking forward to tonight's episode, cause it's almost time for the merger right? And I'm sure that one or two tribe members are waiting for us on Dead Man's Island..." – Anthea

What's with all this Dead Man’s Island stuff? Did I miss something? Clearly.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I think I may be out of the game? I don't even know what's happening anymore! I was on study leave this past week and in the library on Wednesday night. Sunday was confirmation and I was out at parties all afternoon.

Survivor unfortunately comes second to studies – and everything comes second to good friends and chocolate mouse cake." – Adele

"If I was forced to stay in the game... I think she should be forced too. Sorry Adele" – Anthea

Yip, you're staying on the couch, Adele. We are bleeding competitors here. Oh, and Ant? Stop whining.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"And it's the revenge of Rezki. Looks like Bajau wants to turn vegetarian. You should have known something like that might have happened. Veggies and fish for almost two weeks and then a nice piece of red meat. It looked like they overdid it as well. A whole goat gone so soon?

Seemed like Bajau were not hungry enough for the food challenge and Iban won taking the food. And how kind of Bajau to give them a nice piece of Rezki ribs? At first I thought that was not very clever since they are thus strengthening their rival tribe but then again, perhaps they thought to carry over the revenge of Rezki.

Now for such a small tribe it seems that Iban is very opinionated. This time it was Angie and Irshaad going at each other. Seems like Dyke was having a bit of agiggle over the whole situation. Oh and the funniest incident was the rat that freaked Amanda out and it's Dyke to the rescue. Becoming the rat catcher of Iban – without a flute. Was that the first rain or did I just not notice any before?

Immunity challenge – first off, I think they should have made the lines on the punching bags longer. See how easy Dyke got underneath them. Have to admit that I was actually shouting for Iban to take immunity cause if I had my way it would be bye-bye Lisa.

And yes, that's exactly what happened. Lazy Lisa got the chopping block. Now we'll see who will be Grant's new companion." – Neldri

That's true. Do you think Grant's a little exposed now, after having to support Lazy Lisa?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Eating fish eyes, dried frogs, live baby squid and cockroaches to get a food reward was gross! I do hope we don't see this again.

The wok and rice that Iban won at the reward challenge plus the present (goat meat wrapped in banana leaves) had the survivors in a pensive state of mind. They thought it was a nice gesture, but they did not look outwardly ecstatic or joyous. I thought they were hungry?

Irshaad pinned the note that came with the meat to a tree as a memento but Angie thought he went too far and did not want to be reminded. It is after all Survivor, and food must be found and should not be given freely – as Grant pointed out in his lawyerly manner.

Angie and Amanda are so daft. After they got rid of Rijesh, they are now looking to get rid of Irshaad. I think the others might be eyeing them as ones they can do without. Especially if Irshaad and Dyke decide they are becoming a menace. In Bajau, Mandla is getting fed up with Angela being Hein's side-kick. I hope he contemplates a bit more on this and rather look at Grant as the threat.

Grant's alliances are increasing, which Hein must also realise now that he might be a vulnerable player. Poor Hein though... at the tribal council, Lisa fingered him as the one who decided she must sit out. Her inability at realising she might be voted out and that she should rather use a pleading approach, caused the flame of her torch to be snuffed out. AT LAST!

I think the merging of the two tribes is going to happen in the next episode and Hein and Dyke will become buddies again. That is if Hein can survive the next tribal council voting? The trailer for the next episode showed Hein limping and if he got hurt, his team mates won't think twice of voting him off as a liability. I think that Rijesh and Lisa may be on Dead Man's Island. They both hate Hein and if they come back they will vote against him. I still adore Hein and say a fond: "Hail King Hein and his land of milk and Hein-ey"! – Mariaan

Mariaan seems to be displaying the most fealty and therefore is in the lead.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Last weeks episode could have been named "I know what you didn't do during the last 14 days"... The contestants kept raving on an on about how they have to crap in the bush and use Two-Ply-Leaves. Apparently Rezki's Body Double (yip, if you haven't heard already... Rezki is alive and well, it was all a trick – a bloody good one) took revenge on everyone who ate the goat.

They also mentioned how they haven't had a shower in the past 14 days... Maybe Health24 should do an entry about will happen to YOUR privates if you don't wash 'down there' for 14 days... I can make a joke about Parmesan cheese, but I'm not going to.

These days it's very hard for me to guess what's going to happen in the next episode, so let me come out clean – I have no freakin' idea what's going to happen tonight, and I'm afraid to take a guess! Will Dead Man's Island show its head tonight? Will the tribes merge? When will they get the chance to phone home? When will someone win a night at a spa and get the chance to take someone with? When will they get a feast? When will they get 'money' and get the chance to auction for 'hidden' prizes?

SO many things that still need to happen... SO little time..." – Raiël (check out Raiël's Sole Survivor blog here)

EEw, Raiel? Parmesan cheese? Ick, ick, ick.

And that's all from us, till after the next show. Let the games begin!
