Well shock of horrors... a rumour in celebville actually came true! I reported on Friday that Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z and his doll, the gorgeous and talented Beyonce Knowles obtained a marriage license last week Tuesday and were set to marry on the weekend... and they did! Congrats.

Thank goodness... after the Brangelina wedding debacle of last weekend, we needed a celeb wedding. It's been far too long.

Crazy in love
The musical couple got hitched late on Friday night in New York City. After 6 years of dating they finally did it. The couple tied the knot at Jay-Z's shmancy Tribeca apartment... surprising, thought it would have been a seriously over the top affair.

Wedding watch
On Friday the area was buzzing with press and paparazzi checking out what was going on... was there going to be a wedding or was it a hoax? Throughout the day though it seemed more and more like there was actually going to be a wedding. A white marquee was erected on the roof of Jay-Z's apartment building and neighbours were informed that there was going to be big party that night... mmm wonder if any of them tipped off the press?

All sorts of things were being delivered throughout the day as well. Candelabras, long white candles and 50,000 white orchids from Thailand were seen being delivered to Jay-Z's apartment at lunchtime. A parade of sport utility vehicles with tinted windows was seen coming and going from the garage late in the afternoon, one of them carrying two people dressed in chef's uniforms carrying large, square, white boxes on their laps.

A cake was delivered to the apartment around 3 pm, it is described by E! as "a large white cake box that was a couple of feet wide and a couple of feet deep."

Lucky number four
The theme of the wedding was the Roman numeral IV. Both Beyonce and Jay-Z's birthdays fall on the fourth. Jay-Z's birthday is 12/4/69 and Beyonce's is 9/4/81. They have matching ring finger tattoos of the numeral IV that they reportedly had done in France on 12/4/07. Jay-Z's chain of clubs is called 40/40. The date yesterday was 4/4/08. How sweet they got married on the 4th of the 4th month of the year!

Celeb guests
Well Bouncy's pops and manager Matthew Knowles must have sucked it up and gave Jay-Z his blessing to marry his girl. Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles, her dad her sister Solange, Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow also attended the nuptials. How the hell do Gywnnie and Chris get to the wedding? They are so not hip-hop types. Chris Martin and Jay-Z collaborated on a song a while back it seems. Bouncy's nemesis and Jay-Z's protégé, Rhianna was not present at the nuptials. No surprise there. Guests started arriving at 7 pm and the party lasted well into the early morning, with guests only starting to leave at 2 am. The guests were also instructed to wear white… strange since normally it's the hugest faux pas to wear white to a wedding.

Now Jay-Z and Bouncy... we await the pitter patter of little feet. Congrats!
