Never before has the DEDICATION of a book made me cry. Tertia Albertyn's book So Close, is dedicated to all her children, living and gone and in particular, the memory of her son Benjamin, who died in her arms at ten days old.

So Close is about Tertia's battle with infertility, from Clomid to nine IVFs to lost pregnancies, lost babies and finally, her two children Adam and Kate – whom you just know she watches in delight in the middle of the night. In fact, you know Tertia covers them in kisses constantly, because by the end of this book, you know Tertia.
Tertia is warm and irreverent, foul-mouthed and appropriately self-obsessed, full of insecurity and, most importantly for our purposes, the kind of person who can draw you into her tale.
