Question
I am 40 years old. I have a 5 year old son. My husband is 56 with benige MS. Since my son's birth I did not manage to fall pregnant. I did not use any contraceptives. I am healthy (after losing 55kg) and my husband has hypertension. One year ago I underwent hormone tests that all proved to be ok. My husbands sperm count was slightly low(He's already fathered 2 children who are 11 and 5 ) The IVF specialist said we just need to continue trying it is easy to conceive a second child. Please advise
Answer
Well your specialist is obviously wrong, because you are still not pregnant. At age 40 you unfortunately don't have too much time and I think you should see someone who can start with some active treatment because every year your fertility will go down by about 4 %.- Dr Wiswedel
