Falling pregnant after the pill

My husband and I are planning to have a baby soon. I am still on the pill but have heard so many stories about pregnancy after the pill. Is it true that you must not fall pregnant in the first month after stopping the pill as your uterus lining is very thin and oestrogen is high? I have heard so many stories and dont know what to believe anymore!
