Travelling with teens

Here are some essentials that should keep the modern teen happiest when holidaying.
Nursery safety
Before you get excited and start decorating your baby nursery consider these safety tips...

  • Ensure that the mattress fits properly and that there is no possibility of the head or limbs getting stuck.

  • Put the baby to sleep on his back

  • Never use a pillow or comforter. For safety your baby needs a flat firm surface to sleep on.

  • Avoid blinds or curtains with cords in the nursery. If you already have them, tie them back.

  • Once your child can push up on his hands and knees, remove any mobiles or toys that hang across the cot. When he can pull up, take out the cot bumper which can be used as a step, and put the mattress in it's lowest position.

  • Keep the drop side of the cot locked when you are not with your baby.

  • Place the cot away from the windows, cords, lamps, decoration or any climbing furniture in the nursery.

  • Keep toiletries out of reach of your children.

  • Dress your baby in flame retardant sleep wear.

  • When your baby can stand in his cot and the railing tops his chest height and the mattress is at its lowest point it's time to move him out of the cot.

  • Ask an expert
