Upside
In theory, at least, you have more control over your own time, so that you can be there for your little one when she needs you most - her birthday ring at daycare, when she is sick or to watch her extra-mural concerts.
Downside
Because it's your own business, you sometimes find that there are more demands on you, rather than fewer, so the longed for flexibility isn't always possible. Sometimes meetings will be out of yuor control and you will need someone who can come in on short notice to look after your baby.
If you are working from home, you'll need plenty of self-discipline and a good support system if you are to get any work done! Set limits with your children from the beginning, so that they understand that your working time or working space is off-limits. They will soon get used to it.
