How else do you explain all that stuff you have endured in the bedroom which leaves you staring at the ceiling wandering when it will all end?

So first point of call was my best guy friend to get the guy's perspective. After all, he always has a new girlfriend even though the poor girl has no idea that just like the Sunday Times she will be thrown out every Monday morning.

So when I posed the question "what turns women on?" he responded "I do". I felt a bit turned on. So we come to the first big turn on: Confidence.

Then I posed the same question to my ex-boyfriend and he replied; "Men". I felt a bit turned on. So we come the second big turn on: Wit.

Next up was my boyfriend; "So love, what turns women on?" to which he replied "Hmm I am not sure, but you really turn me on". I was very definitely turned on. So we come to the third big turn on: Flattery.

Asking my brother-in-law he responded "Aren't all women different?" I was not turned on, not appropriate considering he is my big sister's husband, but a light bulb went off. So we come to the fourth big turn on: Emotional maturity.

Last up was my brother, although quite frankly I was rather afraid of what he was going to come back with. Turned out it was "money". The guy has a point. After all how many gorgeous young beauties are married to old men with wrinkly cahones but a fat bank balance. So let us call the fifth big turn on: Success.

So if a man has the confidence to approach you, the wit to break the ice, compliments you on your outfit/hair/accessories and the emotional maturity to tailor his approach, and then on top of it all suggests a bottle of champagne... he has basically got it made. Short of being a toad, he is at least guaranteed some face time.

The replies were surprising but encouragingly accurate. I was expecting some rather more overtly sexual replies, but I am guessing turning a woman on in the bedroom is a minefield that men fear with their very lives.

So if they can charm us with the soft stuff first we may grin and bear the rest. What do you think?
