Are Nick Marone and Brooke Logan finally going to find happiness when they say their vows on Friday 5 October? Or is there another scheme a foot to rob Brooke and Nick of their joy?

Viewers would have noticed lately how Brooke's (Katherine Kelly Lang) face lit every time she was talking about her husband-to-be Nick (Jack Wagner). And he couldn't hide his smile when Brooke was the subject of conversation either. "Yes, the two are really meant for each other," Jack told tvplus in an exclusive telephone interview from Los Angeles. "She has all the qualities Nick's looking for in a wife. She's independent and has been though tough times, just like Nick."

For those who don't know, Nick was married to Brooke's daughter, but after lots of drama the two signed their divorce papers last week. Now Nick can marry Brooke, and Bridget can go find love in the arms of the steamy Italian Dante.

Drowning
Nick and Brooke have had to overcome their fair share of obstacles on the way to love. Ridge Forrester, Brooke's on-off love, tried to convince poor Brooke that he is the only man for her. Even when she was getting ready for her wedding to Nick, the desperate Ridge tried to convince her one last time. "I've tried for a long time to accept that you're lost to me and that you're now going to start a new life with my stepbrother Nick," says a heart broken Ridge to the bride. "But it feels like I'm watching someone I love drown and there's nothing I can do to save them."

Then there's the formidable Stephanie Forrester. She is the Forrester matriarch who rules her family and the fashion industry with an iron fist. She hated Brooke and wanted her out of the Forrester family at all costs. And with good reason too. Brooke isn't the most chaste woman on earth. She has jumped into bed with just about all the Forrester men, married most of them and even had some of their kids.

But when Ridge, the apple of Stephanie's eye, recently had a heart attack, it was Brooke who helped wake him from his coma and for that Stephanie was very grateful. So grateful that she made Brooke CEO of the family fashion house, Forrester Creations – something that really bothered Nick because he really doesn't like the sly Forresters. Stephanie also wanted Brooke and Ridge to get together again and was furious when she heard that Brooke was marrying Nick, and not Ridge.

Soon after that Stephanie came up with another vicious plan. She and Ridge asked Brooke to be the model for her own skimpy lingerie line – Brooke's Bedroom. During the photo session for the advertising campaign Stephanie encouraged Brooke to wear as little as possible, with her underwear covering only the bare essentials. Brooke was really not comfortable with it because she knew that conservative Nick wouldn't approve and she asked Stephanie not to use the photos for the advertising campaign. But Stephanie is a woman with a plan...

Wedding drama
Nick and Brooke decided to have an outdoor ceremony at Marina del Rey in Los Angeles. Stephanie decided the risqué Brooke's Bedroom photos would indeed be used and booked newpaper and magazine advertising space with them – as well as billboards on which a half-naked Brooke appears. One of these billboards is clearly visible if you stand at the altar. This is something she knows will really upset Nick and will hopefully derail the wedding.

And that's exactly what happens! The service begins and all the guests wait for the beautiful bride to show up, and then Brooke's son Rick sees the billboard, but it's too late to do anything. Brooke arrives in a carriage and walks towards Nick who's waiting at the front of the church. When he turns around to face the altar with Brooke on his arm, he sees the billboard... goes quiet with rage... and then runs away to his boat, The Shady Marlin.

Poor Brooke is stunned from shock and realises that this is Stephanie's work. The wedding ceremony is stopped and Brooke rushes to Nick to convince him that she had nothing to do with the advertising campaign and that it's Stephanie's way of ruining their happiness. By Monday 8 October Brooke is begging Nick to forget about the photo and marry her. "I didn't give Stephanie permission to use the photo," she cries to Nick.

But he is furious. "Well, she really didn't listen," booms Nick. "And neither did that perverse son of hers. He was there when the photos were taken. I warned you, Brooke, stay away from the Forresters. Working with them was the biggest mistake of your life. But you didn't want to listen and just look at that rubbish on all the billboards!"

Brooke is determined to marry Nick and to convince him to accept her for who she is. "Will you be able to accept me for who I am? Ridge Forrester's ex-wife? The CEO of Forrester Creations? The woman in the advert, full of mistakes and complications? That's who I am. I'm not going to change. I'm proud of who I am, and I want you to be proud of me. Look at me Nick – I am the woman who wants to spend the rest of her life with you!"

Nick then forgives her and the two get married on the boat – away from all the guests... and away from Stephanie Forrester in particular. She is furious when she hears the news, but promises Ridge that she'll make sure that Brooke is his again one day.
