Book your seat for Isidingo on 14 and 15 December – these episodes are going to be hot, hot, hot! Rajesh Kumar (Jack Devnarain) and Cherel de Villiers-Haines (Michelle Botes) begin with a passionate kiss – and then let matters take their natural course on into the bedroom.

But could this be a fatal error of judgment for Rajesh? Up to now he's seemed to be a knight in shining armour – trustworthy, honest, reliable and with good morals and ethics.

We guess everyone's entitled to at least one mistake in life – but the tvplus team reckons falling for Cherel is one mistake that could haunt Rajesh for the rest of his life.

"Rajesh is at a point in his life where he's questioning all the principals and presumptions by which he's lived. He assumed playing by the rules had its own rewards but after his break-up with Lee he realised there are no such rewards," Jack says.

As for Cherel, she isn't the type to reveal anything about herself to anyone – but, when the heart overrules the mind, anything's possible!

After their passionate night she uncharacteristically reveals all her darkest fears and secrets to Rajesh, who of course instantly makes it his mission to serve and protect his new love (guess he'll always be a knight in shining armour after all).

But for Cherel life has always been about getting to the top no matter what. That was one of reasons she married Barker Haines, after all. So we can't help but believe there's more to her relationship with Rajesh than love.

"Dating Rajesh is Cherel's way of exploring facets she hasn't before – this time she's exploring a true, caring type of guy," Michelle says. How touching!

Will Rajesh's kind ways creep into Cherel's heart or will Cherel's manipulative and conniving ways get the better of Rajesh? Only time will tell, and their time together will surely keep us viewers glued to our seats.

Opposites attract
A TV show at ON!TV and the need to be in control brought these two together. Cherel has the manipulative business methods and Rajesh has the financial backing and contacts – a perfect partnership, you might say.

But what started out as a help-you-help-me situation turned into a physical attraction neither could deny. Of course their new "friendship" will be the talk of the town, but what better way to live life than on the edge?

"Cherel has never experienced a relationship with someone as loyal, truthful and caring as Rajesh and I think this is what attracted her to him the most," Michelle says.

Cherel hasn't had the happiest of times in her life of late – her marriage to Barker ended abruptly, she served time in jail, her daughter died and her role in the San Fernando Coup was revealed.

Maybe a breath of fresh air in the form of Rajesh is just what she needs to turn her fortunes around. And her being one to lead, not follow, makes this relationship all the more interesting.

"Rajesh refuses to distinguish between good and bad. It's so often the case that the angel can be the devil in disguise, a fact that Rajesh has learnt at the cost of heartbreak.

"Rajesh is in the process of questioning his perceptions of people he thought he knew, especially Lee and Cherel. Are there really angels and demons, or are we all just doing the best we can?" Jack says.

"The heart has a funny way of choosing people sometimes and it's up to the individual to go with or against that feeling. Rajesh decided to go with it.

"Cherel lives her life with drive and unrestrained infatuation. She represents Rajesh's alter ego. Her mindset – she doesn't second guess her instincts or contain her indulgences – is a revelation to Rajesh and one he finds deeply appealing."

Maybe the fact they're from opposite sides of the tracks is what makes theirs a special bond and what keeps them both intrigued in the relationship. Or maybe it's all about power and revenge!

Ulterior motives
Cherel's marriage to Barker ended in hatred. Rajesh's relationship with Lee ended as a result of trust issues. We can't help but think there’s more to their relationship with each other than "just" love.

According to Michelle, Cherel thinks about taking revenge on Barker every single day. He's put her through hell, so we don't blame her – but we will if it's at another person's expense.

"Rajesh has never played games in matters of the heart. He's always respected Lee's choice in men. He now understands all he has to do is follow his own desires, even if this takes him into the arms of Lee's nemesis," Jack says.

But with Cherel quite possibly plotting her revenge on Barker and Rajesh not playing the game that way, how can this relationship truly work? Then again, it just might!

Love or lies
Our money is on another heartbreak. But who will be left in emotional meltdown – Cherel or Rajesh? Or both?

"Rajesh isn't prepared to make any decisions about love. He's on a strange and exciting journey with Cherel and he's enjoying every minute of it," Jack says.

At one stage Cherel had everything her heart desired, then lost it all in a heartbeat. Will this romance make her see life in a different light?

"Being happy and satisfied with life isn't Cherel's style. Then again, she has the ability to change, as she's very feminine," Michelle says.

It's a tough one to crack, but the months ahead will certainly affect the lives of many on The Deep – as well as keep us fans royally entertained.
