A home is a sanctuary, a place where you can relax and feel safe. But what does your home reflect? The state of your home and possessions is indicative of the state of your mind. Are you feeling scattered and chaotic or ordered and calm?

To check whether your physical environment is really supporting you, ask yourself the questions below. You'll soon see whether you are on top of things or if you need to do a little spring-cleaning, physically and mentally.

  • Are your papers and receipts neatly filed away?
  • Do you always remember to pay your telephone and electricity accounts on time?
  • Is your car in good running order?
  • Are your cupboards clean and tidy?
  • Do you know what every little tub in your fridge contains?
  • Are your pets healthy and up to date with their vaccinations?
  • Do you make your bed every morning before leaving the house?
  • Is the pile of ironing threatening to engulf you?
  • Do you live in a house you like?
  • Are you happy with your furnishings and décor?
  • Is your home well-maintained or needing urgent repair?
  • Do you have things in storage that you are never going to use again?

If you answered 'No' to three or more of these questions, it's time for a good spring clean! You'll be surprised what de-cluttering does for your emotional and mental well-being. So, what are you waiting for? Get the broom!
