DIY Divas offers practical training and hands-on sessions that will empower you with the confidence, knowledge and skills required to undertake your own home repairs, improvements, renovations or DIY projects with safety in mind, and the confidence of knowing and understanding the basic tools and techniques required. To ultimately have the satisfaction of knowing that you "Did It Yourself!"

DIY Divas offers set courses on:
Course 1 – How to use Power Tools
Drill
We will show you how to use a Drill/Driver, Impact and Hammer Drill. You will receive hands-on training in using tools correctly, techniques and tricks of the trade. General skills will include drilling into masonry, tile, wood and board products, ceilings, drywall, etc.
Saw and Cut
Learn what power tool to use for cutting different board products. Be confident when using a Jigsaw, Circular Saw, or Table Saw. Topics will include the different cutting blades, techniques and tricks of the trade to make sawing and cutting easier.
Sand
Understand the difference between the various power sanders: Multi-Sander, Orbital Sander, Belt Sander and Plane, with hands-on projects that you can try for yourself. Find out about the different grits of sandpaper and the best sanding and finishing techniques for timber and board.
Rout
Learn how to use a router for decorative woodwork and trim. Make your own templates and jigs for DIY projects.
Measure, Detect and Prepare
Use digital self-levelling power tools and manual methods for various home improvement projects. Learn how to plan, draw and measure up for your own DIY projects. Understand how to use digital detection tools when undertaking home repairs or improvements.

Course 2 – Basic Woodworking Techniques
Basic Woodworking
Know the different joints and joining techniques for basic woodworking and DIY projects. The different types of fasteners and adhesives. How to complete and finish projects. Learn to hang doors, construct stud walls or fix skirting and architraves, as well as the use of hand and power tools.

About DIY Divas
Our classes are tailored in such a way that every Diva attending a course receives personal attention and a 'hands-on' approach to power tools. We want you to leave the course feeling confident and safe in the knowledge that you have the ability to perform general DIY tasks around the home.

There are three in-house DIY Divas, each with their own area of expertise during the training, and they are available to answer individual queries. The emphasis is on a casual and relaxed atmosphere, where previous power tool knowledge is not necessary, but be sure to bring your sense of humour and a good dose of common sense!

DIY Diva courses are held on a Saturday morning from 10:00 to 14:00. Refreshments and a light lunch are included in the course price of R485.00 per person and you will each receive a DIY Divas Power Tool Training Manual and Bosch-endorsed certificate. The venue is conventiently located in Randpark Ridge, with easy access from the N1 Highway (Joburg).
