Question
Hello Janice. I am re-inventing our camping chairs, but need some help on reinforcing the corners. If you have a look at camping chairs - the frame sticks through a rubber eyelid in the corners. This is the weakest point on the chair. Our previous ones tore right next to the rubber eyelid. I am wondering if there is a glue, epoxy of resin that I can apply to reinforce the fabric and keep the corners for tearing again.
Your sincerely Elma
Answer
Instead of applying something that may not work, why not triple fold the fabric before inserting the eyelet?Alternatively, there are quite a few synthetic fabrics available that offer additional strength and could be inserted between the hem fold. I would suggest that you visit your local fabric store and ask them what they would suggest.
Regards
- Janice Anderssen
