How to change a tap
Good quality taps and fittings add value to your home. Change your taps in seven easy steps.
Step 1. Fit the hose attachments to the underside of the new tap, as shown.

Step 2. Thread the fixing bolt into the tap housing.

Step 3. Once you have removed the old hose attachments from the fittings that protrude from the wall, re-wind the threads with plumbing tape.

Step 4. (optional) Before you connect the new hose attachments you may first want to attach a stopcock. This will make jobs, such as replacing tap washers, easier in the future as you will not need to turn off the entire water supply beforehand. Instead, you will just have to close the stopcock.

Step 5. Thread the new hose attachments to the new stopcocks or back onto the brass fittings.

Step 6. Place the new tap in position over the hole in the countertop or basin.
