It's crucial that you always have a cleansing towelette to remove the perspiration, and miosturiser to apply thereafter. A quick and easy make-up application is all you need.
Fresh and fragrant
When you're feeling run down and listless in the course of the day, nothing works better than a spritz of your favourite fragrance to lift your mood and revive your morale.
Keep a small EDT or purse-sized bottle in your handbag for quick applications.
Nail Breaks
You've just had a manicure done. Then, suddenly, one of your nails break, and there's no time to go back to the salon. Nailine Fix-a-Nail is exactly what you need here – it allows you to glue the nail back on so it can grow again underneath.
Skin break-out
It's the night before a very big presentation and, due to the stress that normally accompanies these events, your skin makes matters worse by breaking out.
You have to do something to conceal it, so try a thin layer of Dermatologica medicated clearing gel applied to your cleansed skin before going to sleep. This will alllow the skin to absorb the gel overnight.
By morning, the break-out should be considerably fainter, and you can conceal the rest with a skilful application of powder or foundation.
Cheeks
You catch a glimpse of yourself in the office cloakroom, and realise you look tired and drawn. A light touch of blusher instantly revives your face colour, without loading more make-up onto your skin.
Late-afternoon presentation
Presentations can be nerve-racking, but when you have one to face, you know you have to look on top of your game. For this, a quick cloakroom touch-up can do the trick. Dab on under-eye concealer, dust translucent powder all over and finish off with a subtle blush. Voila! You're ready to go.
Hair horror
You wake up after a restless night to find your hair's sticking out in every direction except the right one. There's no time to fuss with it, because you have to get to work. Time for action!
Putting on a trendy hat is always a fool-proof measure. Alternatively, pull your hair up into a ponytail and – making sure all the hair's out of your face – slip on a wig.
There are so many of these to choose from nowadays that you can avoid ever having a bad hair day! If you don't have a wig, hate hats and your hair's too short to tie up, use plenty of hair gel to slick your tresses down into manageable shape.
Sunburn
Been in the sun without wearing sunblock? This shouldn't have happened, but it does – you stand outdoors having a long natter to a girlfriend, or fall into the temptation of sitting outside in the midday heat for too long. By the time you realise what's happening, the sun's searing your skin and your face looks as if you've microwaved it!
Apply a cool, soothing cream like new Estée Lauder Sun Rehydration Lotion for body or Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. Reparil Gel is also excellent for quick skin relief, and will accelerate the healing of burnt tissue.
Powder dusted lightly over this will conceal the worst of the damage, and be sure to apply lipstick so your lip colour isn't overwhelmed by your overglowing face!
Make a spectacle of yourself
If you wear glasses, shop around for a stylish, sleek pair that compliments your features. Be sure to apply plenty of eye make-up and be particularly generous with mascara to accentuate your eyes. Believe it or not, glasses can be great for concealing puffy eyes and dark circles!
