For ultra-smooth, kissable lips, outline with a skin-toned lip pencil and fill in with long-lasting lipstick. Top with a shiny glitter gloss.

Get lips into optimum condition by exfoliating and applying a nourishing lip balm every day.

To make lips look less full, apply foundation over the whole mouth before lining them with a lip pencil just inside the lip line.

Avoid bright red and pink lip colour. They can look garish.

Rosy cheeks enliven the whole face, creating a fresh, colourful bloom and the beautifully sculpted cheekbones of an African queen.

Blusher contours the face while giving a fresh bloom. On darker skin, a brighter shade of pink, peach or orange works best.

Creamy blushers look more natural but fade faster than their powder counterparts.

Combine two shades of the same colour by sweeping a muted version across the cheekbones and dotting a bright, clean colour onto the cheek apples.

Smouldering, come-hither eyes shaded in silver and sooty black get a hint of African spice with diamanté accents.

Keep puffy eyes and dark rings at bay. First dust powder onto the eyelids and underneath the eyes to catch any 'spilt' eye shadow. This way it can be brushed off easily without spoiling your foundation.

Always remember: smoky, dark eyes need pale lips.

Combine silver and black or gold and bronze shadows. They always work best.

For extra depth, line the lids with a black kohl pencil.

Highlight the eye area and disguise dark rings with a concealer that's a shade lighter than the foundation.
