Ethereal
Working with Ayan's natural hair, stylist Liz Kaplan
created this exquisite style. 'This can be done on straight
or curly hair,' says Liz. 'Prepare the hair with a strong
curl enhancer and dry it with a diffuser. Or, for a straight
finish, use a strong gel mousse and dry it with the head
upside down to create volume. Then tease the whole
head and pull the hair loosely onto the crown of the
head. Using a firm-hold hairspray, pull out strands of hair
– like a weeping willow. Finally, add some silver feathers.'

Playful
A smooth waterfall of straight, glossy hair topped with roses and ribbons is fun and fanciful. Liz says: 'Blow-dry the hair very straight and then flat-iron it to smooth, shiny perfection. Add a drop of serum to flatten the ends. Then sweep the hair over to one side and attach flowers and ribbons to cascade like streamers.'

Frothy
A confection of tulle, fresh roses and crystals, with rippling curls framing the face. If the hair is naturally curly, says Liz, scrunch it dry with a curl enhancer. If the hair is straight, section and tong it. 'To loosen the curls, run an Afro comb gently through the hair and tease it at the roots for more volume. Then tong the ends to smooth and control the curl.'

Polished
A style fit for the princess bride. Liz says: 'Flat-iron the hair using a heat-resistant styling lotion, then tease the whole head of hair, spritzing each section with a light hairspray. Brush the hair back using a drop of serum on the palm of the hand to smooth flyaway ends, roll the hair into a chignon and clip it into place at the back of the head. Finally, adorn the head with a tiara and attach jewelled hairpins into the chignon's seam.'

Polished perfection
Chic and refined, this classic French roll is updated with smooth coils, a glamorous tiara, pretty hat netting and sparkling clips. Liz says: 'Create smooth, shiny hair using serum and a flat iron. Side-part the hair and sweep the front section over the forehead, then pull the hair back behind the ears and onto the crown of the head. Secure it with hairpins. Then twist sections into coils down the back and tuck them in individually. Use diamanté slides at the chignon's join to keep it smooth and in place, and spritz it with hairspray.'

Kinky
Pretty as a picture and giving new meaning to retro ringlets. 'Part the hair in the centre,' says Liz, 'and, using moulding wax, flatten the hair and catch it into two bunches with elastic bands. Then tong the hair into small ringlets and loosen them with your fingertips, being careful not to brush out the curls. Finally, add silk or fresh flowers.'

Flower power
A fantasy of ribbons, flowers, coils and sleek locks. Prep the hair with an anti-frizz serum, says Liz, then flat-iron it until it's smooth and straight. 'Part it to one side, sweep it across the forehead and clip it securely behind the ears. Then tease the hair at the crown of the head to give height, creating a few loopy curls, and pin them firmly with hair clips. Finally, tie a satin ribbon at the join and attach the flowers.'
