Checking and retouching your make-up in summer leaves you with less time to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Once you've done your make-up, you should be able to forget about it.

Select waterproof make-up formulations if you go to the beach or play lots of sport. A dusting of Kryolin's Waterproof Fixing Powder will keep foundation in place, even if you dive into the pool. Many cosmetics companies make waterproof eye colour pencils.

Waterproof mascaras are now more gentle and easier to remove. If you don't want to change your existing mascara, give it a coat of Clarins Mascara Fix, a waterproofing gel for all types of mascara.

Regular mascara tends to smudge from the lower lashes first, so skip mascara there on hot days if you prefer not to use a waterproof formulation.
