So you've done the hard time and waited for them to grow. Now they are long and you have no idea what to do with them.
Here are some ideas you can try out.
Wash your locks regularly and use a nourishing conditioner, high shine spray and hair food for best results.

Get waves and volume by plaiting your dreads and then dipping the ends in hot water. Once dry loosen them and you'll have bouncy curls.

Styling
Fold back individual locks and tie them down using pins, or by tying the locks into each other. You can also plait them down as corn rows or braid them, then pin down to the back.

Bead it!
For something a little funky and different, you can opt for beads. Go safe with black or brown wooden beads that will match any outfit or funk it up with more colourful beads. You can push them up toward the middle and the root or keep them on the tips. Whatever looks best.

Add some colour
Get some life into your dreads by getting them coloured. If you are not ready to commit, use colour mousse as opposed to going for a full permanent colour treatment.
The mousse will wash off when you shampoo your hair. You can also get highlights as opposed to colouring all your hair.

Head band it!
Use an Alice band, scarf or piece of cloth to keep your dreads held back and out of your face.
Better yet, why not match the colours/prints with your shoes or accessories?

Layers
For shape, have your dreads trimmed into layers. Trim the front into a fringe or layer the sides so that the front is short and gradually gets longer to the back.

You've been growing them for years, you've earned the right to let them hang loose.
Part them in the middle or side and brush down.

If your dreads constantly fall into your face, try tying them up. There are various funky styles you can do with the ends sticking out or or neatly tucked away in a bun.

The braidy bunch
If your locks are still in the budding stages, putting them in braids will help to accelarate growth. Regular hot oil treatments and moisturiser will do a world of good as well.
