18 June 1996: Jennifer Lopez and her Selena co-star, Rebecca Lee Meza, in Beverly Hills.
The look: Phew! Let's say thanks to the style goddesses that Jenny found fashion. I really do not need another corporate dress code catastrophe and what a cliché – the pale pink skirt and jacket combo... I can almost hear Roxette singing in the background about dressing for success. Power dressing is for men with drills in their hands wearing protective clothing not for pop stars.

22 March 1997: Jennifer Lopez, who plays Selena in the movie Selena, performs in one of the scenes from the movie.
The look: Oh Snap! I now have a Halloween costume, 'wonder woman blinged up – the sequined sequel'
The lips, the heart shaped weight lifters earrings, the criss-cross sequined top – it's a sensory overload, a spiderweb of bad taste... and I love it! I mean, who, besides Jenny, can make this look good. Quite frankly, it gets my nomination for a wonder of the world.

8 April 1997: Jennifer Lopez and husband, Ojani Noa, at the premiere of Anaconda in Los Angeles.
The look: I must admit, I have done the sofa dress too. It happens to most of us at one point or another. You find a "fantastic" fabric, make a dress and for the rest of the evening people keep mistaking you for a chair, or a curtain, or a sofa... not quite the impression you had in mind. It happens to celebs too but what makes Jenny's sofa sin even worse is that her skin tone blends in with the fabric, Ugh!

7 May 1997: Jennifer Lopez appears at the 11th Annual Filfillment Fund Scholars Day Luncheon, which honours high school and college students for outstanding performance in Beverly Hills.
The look: This is so predictable; I just about fell asleep at my key board. I would take the sequined Selena look over dress in a heartbeat. It reminds me of someone at a wedding attempting to look cool. The black print dress, the black cardi, the black sunglasses – perfectly packaged but painstakingly boring and without style.

23 February 2000: Jennifer Lopez poses for photographers at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
The look: My granny always said, a brooch will make any outfit look good. She's right, you know, and I am sure Jenny and I share some familial history. I mean, can you imagine this outfit without the brooch – what would it be? Jenny, after all, is from the Bronx and in her hood (or is it block) she learnt that if you don't have it, a dress for example, you just make one. Good on ya Jen – from a table cloth to dress, sheer brilliance.

19 October 2000: Jennifer Lopez attends the VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards at Cipriani in New York. She won the Versace Award.
The look: This is a perfect example on how to wear your pyjamas in public. It's a simple formula: accessorise, accessorise, accessorise. No-one would ever guess Jenny slept in this outfit last night. She might change her men frequently but she doesn't always have time to change outfits.

24 January 2001: Jennifer Lopez makes an appearance at the Virgin Music Megastore in West Hollywood, California to promote the release of her second music album entitled J. Lo.
The look: Guess who got an ab-flex for Christmas?
Jen is the queen of excess – big hat, big glasses, big shirt, big hair, but what is with those hideous gold corset-styled pants – I don't think the shoelace crotch ever took off or did I miss the memo?

25 March 2001: Jennifer Lopez arrives at the 73rd Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles. Lopez is wearing a Chanel dress with hair by Oribe and makeup by Scott Barnes.
The look: Love the look Jenny, even the little bit of nip-slip at the Oscars. Oh well, you know what they say – you can take the girl out the Bronx but never the Bronx out the girl... but on a more serious note, hasn't this woman got the best skin ever...

14 May 2001: Jennifer Lopez and her boyfriend at the time, Cris Judd, arrive at the film premiere of Angel Eyes in Los Angeles, California.
The look: From the chin down, I get it. The lacy dress was once a must-have, but what happened on top? A Hiroshima-bomb of curls exploded under the dryer and we can't even see who's under there...
Jenny, can you hear us?

21 May 2002: Jennifer Lopez arrives at the world premiere of Enough at the Loews Lincoln Square Theaters in New York City.
The look: This is what you get when bad clothes happen to beautiful people... an ensemble of frothy fugliness. It looks like a bad bridesmaid outfit. Thank goodness for hair and make-up gurus, who saved J-LO from being arrested by the FP... (fashion police, darling, fashion police)

15 February 2007: Jennifer Lopez poses during a photocall for the film Bordertown.
The look: Where's your lipstick, honey? Jenny is the queen of opulence and toning it down to look like a political figurehead is like an end to gossip magazines... disastrous. Throw on some bronzer, let down those curls and lower that neckline! Why mess with what works?

23 March 2007: Jennifer Lopez poses during a photocall in Paris for her new album Como ama una mujer (Like a woman in love).
The look: Oh sweet chilli's – what happened here? Once again, it's the hair and make-up peeps that saved her look.
I think Jenny's just showing us that she's human and in Hollywood you get fat days too... thanks Jen for keeping it real.

25 March 2007: Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony pose on the red carpet as they arrive for the awardings of the Echo music prize in Berlin.
The look: J-Lo looks stunning and ultra-glam in this brown mini. Love the accessories and the shoes!
I think Jenny chose Marc because he's small and skinny and doesn't take up much space in a photograph. He does have big feet though... maybe that's what keeps Jenny grounded?

20 September 2007: Jennifer Lopez attends a party to promote her new album Brave in London.
The look: If the rumours are anything to go by... I do hope there is a baby brewing under all that print? Imagine J-LO doing a maternity line, now that would be fab... make that ghetto fab. J 2 the LO vs. Gwen Stefani battling it out for the title of the most rocking mama. It would be a catfight made in sweet fashion heaven.
