The fact is, blogging is cool. It's a great way to find out what real people all over the world are thinking about, what they're seeing and doing. And if you've ever nurtured hopes of becoming a writer, it's also a fabulous way of getting published. And best of all, you can write about anything your heart desires. But be warned... it can become addictive.

So, to get you on the road to blogging success we've compiled our list of favourite bloggers (in no particular order), who most certainly do a fabulous job on their unique blogging sites.

Celebrity gossip: Perez Hilton
Celebrities fear him, gossip journalists revere him... and who would have thought that he'd started out as a kid obsessed with the rich and famous? Perez Hilton is the Internet's most devilish gossip columnist whose motto is "I'm gay, but I'm not as big a slut as Paris." If you like your celeb's named, shamed, and blamed check out Perez daily.

Parenting: So Close
South Africa's very own Tertia Albertyn started her blog to chronicle her journey through infertility. Amazingly, nine IVF’s and a few losses later she gave birth to twins, Adam and Kate. Her blog now looks at the next chapter of her life, finding the balance between mothering, working, wife’ing, all the while drinking copious amounts of lovely chilled white wine.

Ex-pats: Marcy in Germany
Marcy is a South African living in Germany with her husband. Her daily posts centre on her experiences in this foreign country, her children and her life history... very interesting.

Fashion: Sassybella.com
If you're a real fashion fundi, then Sassy Bella is the blog to check out the hottest fashion news.

Very fashionable people: The Sartorialist
I can spend hours on this blog... The Sartorialist posts daily pictures of gorgeous, fashionable people that he photographs on the streets of Paris, Milan, London and New York. The best part is that he has a fabulous eye for detail, tailoring and the unique.

Beauty: Beauty Addict
Kristen Kelly is a little obsessed with makeup and started her blog in 2005 to share her addiction... it is now one of the most popular beauty blogs in the world!

Shoes: Too few feet, too many shoes
Shoegirl loves shoes... and bags and sunglasses, but really it's about the shoes.

Sex: Girl with a one-track mind
Zoe Margolis (aka Abby Lee) loves sex and her blog is a very honest and detailed account of her sexual exploits. Not only is it interesting, but Zoe is witty, intelligent and a great writer.

Swinging: Got the t-shirt
The Twins used to be a swinger in Joburg, but after a series of life-changing incidents chose to leave the swingdom behind her. Now she blogs about her experiences and warns others about the reality of this secretive world.

Secrets: www.postsecret.com
PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard. Some rather obscure, others a little frightening, but generally quite juicy.
