Job-seeking savvy

Looking for your dream job? Here are some helpful tips to land you that job.

We all believe that there's a job out there that is meant and designed just for us. Jenni van der Merwe of careers24.com says that there's a "match-made-in-heaven" job waiting just for you. The trick is to equip yourself with some solid job-seeking savvy, in the meantime.

How to land that tailor-made job:
Cast your net wide
Don't limit your job search. Check job sections in newspapers, register with reputable recruitment agencies and upload your CV on credible career portals.

Use all the help you can get
Instead of waiting for someone to notice you amongst thousands of other applications, take control and personalise your CV with professional assistance.

Make sure your skills fit the job
In your letter of application or interview, show what you can bring to the job. This will create more interest for the employer to read or question you further.

Present a cover letter
Use this opportunity to leverage your skills and knock your employer-to-be's socks off.

Impress the interviewer
Dress the part, be knowledgeable about the company, be punctual and listen carefully to the questions asked.

Be true to yourself
Remember to remain sincere and honest at all times.

I am young and I know I fit well in the call centre world but it is so hard to secure a job, these people dont understand that you need them to give you a job inordrer for you to gain experience.I studied the course but that seems not to matter in the call centre industry and the only lucky candidates are affrikaans speakers, they dont need experience, they just need to now the language.
