This is the thought that crosses many women’s minds when pushed to the limit of their tolerance. If it’s not the constant demands of the family, the career, the love life or the PMS that makes you want to claw your eyes out, it’s being stuck in a routine day after day after day…
But, because we are ladies we would rather murder in our minds than risk being taken on by the South African justice system. *shudder* But, ever so often we hear of a dangerous damsel who pays homage to homicide. As the "Cell Block Tango" on Chicago goes…
‘He had it coming’
Who can forget Daisy de Melker, SA’s very own black widow who poisoned her two husbands (who, ironically, were both plumbers) and her own son in 1932? Methinks this Miss Daisy drove herself all the way to insanity.
Her secret recipe: drinks dosed with a touch of cyanide.
‘He only had himself to blame’
If the thought of bludgeoning someone to death leaves you petrified of more than just the post manslaughter cleanup, Maria Krebs, notorious for the ‘three-in-a bed murder,’ shot her serial cheating husband down in 1987 after deciding enough was enough.
Now that’s taking ‘a woman scorned’ to another level.
‘He ran into my knife ten times’
Lindi Magaliso literally stabbed her hubby in the back through the rather ‘sophisticated’ means of murder by hiring two assassins. The did the deed in 1984 when his life insurance mattered more to her than his actual life.
Ouch.
‘She saw herself as alive and I saw her as dead’
Caught in a love triangle, Ms. Suzanna Magdalena lost her life when Marlene Lehnberg (19 at the time) butchered her to death. Marlene had a torrid affair with Magdalena’s husband and removed ‘all obstacles’ keeping them apart.
Apparently mad cow disease affects humans too.
