QUESTION
Hi Colinda,
I would like to find out if my behaviour is normal or if I may need some help. I am a 40 yr old woman, single, no children, my elderly parents are living with me. I was going to get married about 3 years ago, but my ex decided 2 weeks before the wedding that he wanted out.
My issue is this, I am a very happy, positive, bubbly person at work, yet I never go out at all. When I get home, I just want to stay there and not go anywhere. My life basically consists of work and home, that is it. I do have a bit of anxiety about going out - especially at night as I am night blind and cant see in the dark. I just think I need to get out and meet people, be social again, but I just can't seem to get myself to leave the house ?
When I get invited by my work friends to go out, I might at first say yes, but always find an excuse not to go. I really do want to go out and socialise again, but can't seem to get myself to. Is this normal? Am I just lazy ? In a comfort zone, or stuck in a rut ? How do I change ?
