When social media monger @Nixie_Nix posed this question on her Facebook page, she didn’t anticipate 50 or so replies. But, while many of them were funny... most were not exactly valid. Or even appropriate.
Thing is, she wasn’t after slang (although, if you have some decent colloquialisms, then pop them in the box below), she was looking for traditional Afrikaans phrases and expressions.
You know, those that ring in a bit of truth, and those that stir up some fond memories...
