Michael Jackson remembered
A legend is remembered, Rihanna and Chris are fighting the law and Jen and Brad... over already?
Ever since the shocking passing of Michael Jackson, just a week ago, all the world can talk about is Michael Jackson. I, for one am not surprised, the man was a true legend of his time! His career spanned over 40 years, his music has become the soundtrack to our lives and his life has been in headlines for as long as I can remember.
The King of Pop remembered...
The public outpouring of grief has been huge, with his death being likened to that of Elvis Presley and Princess Diana with talk of public funerals and viewings of him at his beloved Neverland! The president of his fan club, Gary Taylor has even reported twelve reported suicides of some of his fans who just couldn't cope with the news. Sad but true. All over the world there have been displays of remembrance and memorials for the King of Pop.
Last Friday in London there was a Flash mob display where thousands of Michael fans got together in the middle of the city to do a mass moonwalk and rock out to Michael's famous tunes! My housemate Greg went and said the vibe was amazing, all the MJ fans rocking out together. There have been vigils, moments of silence all in his honour. It's been amazing to see.
Michael lived his life in the spotlight and his death has been no different. His passing has dominated the headlines and news for over a week now, with everyone trying to get the scoop on what really went down. Michael reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest at his home but his father, Joe Jackson believes it wasn't as simple as that and suspects foul play took place! It's been reported that the cardiac arrest was brought on by a lethal injection given to Michael by his personal doctor, Dr Conrad Murray who disappeared after Michael died. Shady! He shortly returned and was questioned by the police over "the circumstances around the death of the pop icon and to clarify some inconsistencies." The police and the Jackson family are none too happy with what's been going on!
The Jackson family is devastated and it's even worse because there is a huge divide between them and Michael's handlers and they are concerned about the reliability of these people who were with Michael in his final weeks and hours. Joe Jackson made a statement to the press, "We're holding a family meeting now. We don't like what's going."
A close family friend said, "They're in shock and they want answers, the issue is the people around him: vampires and blood suckers."
Close family friend, Minister Jesse Jackson (no relation!) spoke to the media about their concerns. He revealed this... "The family has questions. There is a concern about what happened the last 12 hours of Michael's life. His personal doctor [Conrad Murray] has showed some bizarre behaviour. Apparently, the doctor was with Michael, maybe administering to his back pain. And then, the next thing that happens is there is a 911 call. What's strange about that call is the voice says Michael's not breathing that he's unconscious. How long was he not breathing? How long was he unconscious... Then, of course, the doctor did not confer with the family. To say, 'Here is what happened in the last hours of your son's life.' That would have been the courtesy. He hadn't talked with the family. He didn't sign the death certificate. He didn't talk with the coroner. And then he was missing in action. Finally, when he surfaced, he surfaced with a lawyer. All these are rather bizarre actions." He makes a good point, it's all rather suspect.
There has been much speculation about MJ's reliance on prescription medications (with lethal drugs being found at his home) and those who were giving pills to him. Apparently, the doses were ridiculously high and his family tried to hold an intervention with MJ to stop all the drama with the pills. There have been tons of people coming out of the woodworks, all telling stories of his drug abuse, the pressure and his fragile state. It's left everyone wondering if the King of Pop's tragic death could have been avoided.
A week on, and everyone also wondered about what was going to happen to Michael's three beloved children. He lived for them and gave them an incredibly sheltered life. His two eldest, Prince Michael and Paris's mother is Debbie Rowe – but she gave up parental rights years ago. His youngest, Prince Michael II's mother is not known.
Rumours and allegations have also surfaced that MJ is the not biological father of his children and that his long-time trusted dermatologist and friend Arnold Klein (and Debbie Rowe's former boss) is the actual pops! Well, it would make sense since the children are white. Anyway, that's all irrelevant as MJ was their father in every way it counts!
Anyhoo, in a hearing this week Michael's mom Katherine was granted temporary custody of his three kids just as Michael wanted in his will. His will was made public on Wednesday and in it, he specified that his mother was to be responsible for his three children, the Michael Jackson Family Trust (worth almost half a billion dollars!) and Neverland's famed items. In a strange twist he also stated that if she died before he did, his long time friend and iconic singer Diana Ross was to take that roll. Wow! He specifically stated in his will that the children's mother was not to get anything or the kids.
I could write for days about all the drama and rumours surrounding his untimely passing but I won't, there is too much to say. The King will be buried in a private ceremony with public memorial to follow. R.I.P MJ.
Chris and Rihanna... the saga continues
In other news, (not that there has been much with MJ's death) the Rihanna and Chris 'Beat her Down' Brown was supposedly over (finally!) with Chris basically getting a slap on the wrist. Ahem, OJ Simpson! He got probation and all that jazz and had to be at least a couple of 100 metres away from Riri but now the pair, aka Riri AND Chris, want that overturned! Both of them want to be rid of the strict no contact clause! They think it's unnecessary and ridiculous," says a mutual pal. "After [the proceeding], Rihanna and Chris talked on the phone for almost an hour and really worked at becoming friends. They're solid now." How charming. She better not take his slimy ass back.
Brad and Jen – over already?
So much for Jen Aniston getting her sex on with Hangover star and sexpot Bradley Cooper! Rumours were circulating after Jen and Brad (take 2!) were spotted canoodling all over town but it seems that Brad is a bit of a player. This past week he was spotted all over town looking awfully cosy with none other than Renée Zellweger. Seems that old Bradley is getting around!
How to Lose Friends and Alienate People... starring Linds Lohan
What's a week without some more Loco Lindsay Lohan drama- not a week at all! Linds is back with Sam, AGAIN! Go figure but she cannot keep her trap shut and is once again causing drama with old Trousersnake Justin Timberlake. Two weeks ago, she tweeted on Twitter that he was cheating on his lady love Jessica Biel while out on the disco (then denied it), apparently she did it because he dissed her ass but now she's at it again. Way to make friends, Linds! Justin Timberlake's fashion line, William Rast was recently added to a super swanky store in old Paris Colette and Linds had plenty to say about it! Linds tweeted on her Twitter, "I can't believe you are lowering yourselves to a MACY'S brand- i am speechless. Paris is chic not mid America. gross" Harsh! Am sure JT and super huge Macy's will be charmed by her bitchy comments!
Bunnies and babies
In other luuuurve news, former Playboy Mansion bunny, Holly Madison is back together with her magician boyfriend Cris Angel after some time apart. Maybe the wedding of her bunny pal Kendra Wilkinson this past weekend inspired her to get back together with her man. Pregnant Kendra and her man Hank Baskett got hitched at the Playboy mansion! Hugh Hefner, Holly's former sugar daddy was meant to walk her down the aisle but her brother did instead. Thank goodness, that would have been uber-weird! Here is the first snap of the big day! Congrats.
Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick released the first official snap of their new little bundles of joy, Marion and Tabitha (the cat, sorry I couldn't resist!). They are so cute!
