Mariah sat for an interview with Barbara Walters on Nightline, and revealed she was concerned for her safety after an incident where her fellow judge, Nicki, allegedly threatened her.
I don't blame Mariah one bit; Nicki is kind of scary with those big eyes, scary clothes and split personality. She could do some serious damage.
“Anytime anybody’s reeling threats at anybody,” says Carey, “it’s not appropriate.”
The mother of 2-year-old twins also previously mentioned to Barbara (privately, mind you) that Nicki had threatened to shoot her - see what I mean?! She's scary!
This time, Mrs Nick Cannon says on air that the American Idol set “felt like an unsafe work environment” after they butted heads and that she took extra measures to insure her safety.
"Sitting there on the road with two babies I’m not going to take any chances. So yeah, I did hire more security,” said Mariah.
Although their working relationship got off to a bit of a rocky start, Mariah says she and Nicki - who declined to comment for the Nightline interview - have buried the hatchet and are now focused on the job at hand.
“I’ve been blessed to live my dream more than half my life, so I want to give that back to someone else,” she says about her role as an American Idol judge.
