As for the plastic tables and chairs, do you expect all take-aways to have table clothes, music, and padded seats for you when you eat there? Bibi's is not a restaurant anymore.
By the sounds of things you have been to Bibi's many times; if they dislike them so much then why do you keep going there?
I think Bibi's is great, they have always provided the best Indian food at affordable prices.

To Fahieda: Bibi's do take orders, I notice that your comment was placed on the 19th December. That was just after Bibi's had reopened. I know for a fact that they were not taking Eid orders just after they opened as they were still settling into things. They have always taken phone orders and will continue to do so.
To Anonymous: The owners are always willing to help and offer their knowledge of the various dishes. Also, as for their prices being "ridiculous", I think they offer good value for money, and excellent quality. I mean "ridiculous" compared to what? Are you aware that the prices of all ingredients in food are going up these days due to other issues. You can?t expect them to keep their prices the same forever. What about the other side of the argument: Despite the increase in food prices during their revamp, when they reopened they still maintained their quality, yet managed to keep their prices constant.

I beg to differ from Anonymous, dated April 14, 2008. Bibi's staff is better than ever! They have a few new staff on board and I think they are excellent, especially Aneesah who started there about a week ago. She is absolutely magnificent so very very helpful...and Bibi herself is excellent!! very approachable indeed. And oh yes, you pay to enjoy good food...so the prices are fairly good. Bibi's the Best

"Bibi's Kitchen" is an example of a place where good food meets high expectations. I think that anyone who's looking for authentic Indian cuisine at an affordable price, with all the trimmings associated with a full meal, will never be disappointed. Furthermore, I think that the revamp is really a step in the right direction, the colours are appealing and have scientifically been proven to stimulate the appetite. And the staff, are ever so helpful...they know exactly what's on offer, and what to recommend, depending on the customer's individual taste. Very efficient, too. Even the owner, herself, is approachable and ready with a smile and a chat...so, Bibi's ... from us, your loyal customers...please know that you're still the best!

I think Bibi's is overrated! Their staff never greets you with a smile. No wait, they never greet. And the owners are even worse. They simply don't even acknowledge a person. Their prices are ridiculous too! Go to Bihari's in Tokai, for excellent service, and even better food! Bibi's revamped and expect the customers to pay the same price for sitting at plastic tables and chairs! There is nothing nice about going to Bibi's!

The curries remain excellent. I'm just upset that the restaurant no longer exists. However, if you want a really great curry in Cape Town, this is the place to go to.
