"My strength is creating a best-selling look rather than focusing on individual items of fashion. My look is a truly modern African one that blurs the boundaries between formal and casual. Hip Hop's summer collection focuses on brights, bold fabrics and takes floral to the max.
In September you'll see the bright, bold electric pink power suit that can be worn as a boardroom statement or broken up to brighten up any outfit. Floral fabrics are a favourite this season, with strappy summer numbers gracing the rails. The colours are bright – think a variety of pinks and illuminated plum. Black and white floral prints are brought in, perfect for office or occasion.

Scalo was one of the upcoming designers highlighted during the Fashion Week. He focussed heavily on gold detail contrasted with black as the dominant colour. A structured, striped look is the overall effect, suitable for smart, work-related functions.

Simphiwe Hlope says he aimed to draw in the essence of acorns by "blending together the two elements of being so hard and structured and yet so fragile at the same time." For this effect, he focussed on fabrics like chiffon, Dutch silk, poly silk and raw silk.
"I'm designing for the elegant woman who is not afraid to take any risks," Hlope says. "She is a very sophisticated and confident person. She has to be a comfortable in her surrounding and very powerful as well."
