It was another normal Friday (17 July 2009) afternoon, and me being on my own little mission, decided to wait for friends at a local family diner before seeing what the night would hold.

Being very bored and waiting for the time to pass by, I spotted the most gorgeous little boy, with the curliest hair I had ever seen. The little boy jumped on the terrace, looked me straight in the eyes, laughed, turned his head, glanced back at me, and bounced away.

Suddenly I was being entertained by a 5-year old boy while the grown up conversation faded away in the background. Because he noticed the attention, he kept on repeating the little game he was clearly enjoying.
When he disappeared, I felt rather disappointed as he was my main source for passing the time. But then I saw that curly hair bouncing…

… and wouldn't you know, the little boy was playing next to the most gorgeous man I have ever seen. I was dumbstruck. I stared so long, that this gorgeous man eventually smiled at me. I melted in the blink of an eye, hold on, I thought to myself…
Surely this guy must be married Suné.

… Why can't I have that, I thought to myself. A gorgeous husband and an adorable little boy. It seemed to me that they were obviously waiting for the mommy to arrive after work. It was at that point that I decided to leave and ended up driving around meaninglessly.
I knew! It was the gorgeous man with the ruby-coloured shirt. He sms'ed me and copied the spelling of my name. I instantly knew, that I wasn't searching for an unique identity, but for a soul mate, but how and where did he get my number?

I asked him and this was his reply: ""I left the diner, being very disappointed never talking to you, you were the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen. I even told my guests at the table, that you took my breath away.
It was a done deal! Sold, sealed and delivered. Tian asked me on an official date the very next Monday. After dinner, we went for coffee, and told me that he really likes me and would like to know if I was interested in something serious. I told him that I was.

We hosted our wedding at The Nutcracker (www.thenutcracker.co.za) which is a picturesque venue on the banks of the Vaal River near Parys. We did not interfere much with the planning or décor, and left it all in the capable hands of the owner and wedding planner Graham. He did such a great job!
It was quite hectic on the Friday, 01 April 2011, the day before the wedding. We had to pick up the little one from the Airport, as he lives on the coast with his mom and only arrived at the venue late Friday night - it was about 22h00.

On Saturday, 02 April 2011, I had the best wedding preparation day - a full spa treatment in the morning, and a relaxing afternoon in my suite; and all with that bubbly little boy. We had so much fun, playing hide and seek in the room, eating finger snacks and making home movies. He never left me alone for one second. My hair was done in my suite, and my make-up was done by professional artist, Yolande Milne.
The groom also had a wonderful morning, i.e. going for breakfast with the best men, etc. I guess they had a good time, because Tian looked so relaxed and excited the moment I walked into the chapel.

I couldn't take my eyes off him! The ceremony was beautiful. The little one was our ring bearer, who, might I add, handled the rings perfectly. In a second, we were one happy little new family.

Graham took care of everything - did the flower arrangements and incorporated St. Joseph Lilies, which is my favourite flower. I only saw the reception hall when we entered as Mr. and Mrs. Tian Amaro, and the menu, also catered by The Nutcracker, proved to be a to-die-for menu.

Three years later we are very happily married, with our very own little baby boy. I do hope his hair turns out curly like his big brother's.
