Lance and I met in London after leaving South Africa in 2004, coincidentally on the same "self" journey to experience what life and the world has to offer and to find ourselves, not knowing that we would find each other.

We travelled together while completing our two year working visa. After working in Botswana and Cape Town in the "beauty" industry, we decided to settle down in Johannesburg in 2007.

Our friendship grew and developed into a relationship.

On the 9th of January 2011, Lance proposed to me. What a happy and special day.

Our wedding date was decided as the 17th of September 2011, as the number 7 is a favourite and lucky number for both of us, and the month of September as it is a happy month, with Spring and promise of new beginnings.

Then all the fun, excitement, planning and organising began.

We woke up early because Lance had planned and organised a surprise picnic, to his disappointment it was pouring with rain. He made me a cup of coffee and we had rusks sitting on our patio watching the rain. He then said that he needed to chat to me about something and that we should go inside as it was a bit chilly.
I was snuggled in my sleeping bag at OVC (SA hostel) when in walked Lance tired and hungry after the long flight from South Africa. "Hi" I said and went back to sleep. It was exactly 8 years ago.

We decided on a morning wedding at the "Walter Sisula Botanical Gardens in Roodepoort, (the original plan for Lance's proposal).

We had champagne combined with a finger brunch with 80 of our special friends and family members. Our colour scheme was yellow and orange Roses and Gerberas as our wedding flowers. It was magnificent in the gardens, with a waterfall in the background and the black eagles soaring the blue skies.
We had a horse and carriage as the bridal mode of transport. A musician playing a saxophone provided our music. It was the happiest, most memorable and special day I could ever have dreamed of. I would not change a thing and would recommend all the event planners that we used.
