I consider myself very lucky having my husband around, who helped in both the planning and organising of our wedding. He was not only there financially but his thoughts, ideas and support meant a lot to me as well. We communicated and traveled a lot. I remember one day he woke me up at 2 am to ask me for a pen and book to draw up a draft of our wedding program.(
My wedding planner (my friend) is gay, so I was nervous and unsure as to how my fiancé was going to react to having him around. (

Much to my surprise, they got along like "a house on fire". That made things a lot easier for me. Together we bought wedding magazines and that’s how we got to decide on the colour: Cerise, silver and white. (

I love butterflies so I wanted them to be printed on the wedding invitation, cake and my dress. With only four months to plan, I attended weddings for ideas and spoke to couples that got married before me. My husband has an eye for beautiful things, yet he never questioned my intentions or plans. (

My younger brother walked me down the aisle since my dad passed away in 2001 in a car accident. The piano played the bridal anthem as I walked slowly towards my fiancé, who waited with much anticipation at the altar. At the moment I knew God had blessed us beyond words. Some info about the traditional wedding: Held at the groom’s place where there was also a ceremony for welcoming the bride. The bride receives a cow (slaughtered by the bride's family) from the in-laws to show that she is welcomed into the family. In return, the bride has to buy blankets for the groom’s family along with traditional mats and pillows as a token of appreciation. (
