I love the movie Pride and Prejudice….when Georg proposed he got an editor friend to film him as “Mr Darcy”, and then at the end of the film as Elizabeth and Darcy get together, I suddenly saw MY Mr Darcy on screen declaring his undying love for ME.

We were married 8 months later on my folks dairy farm in Creighton, Kwa-zulu Natal.

We were due to have a garden wedding and then a reception on the lawn in a marquee.

A week before the wedding a hail storm struck…then a small tornado (I kid you not!)

Then a couple days later a massive thunderstorm with over 2 inches of rain…we had a river running through the marquee!!

But, thanks to God and many people’s help, the garden still looked beautiful on our wedding day.

I wrote, sang and recorded a song for Georg for our wedding day but it was a surprise….then instead of the song he thought I was walking down the aisle to, I played my song…and as I sang promises to him to honour him and love him all the days of our lives I walked down the aisle to my Mr Darcy and became his wife.

We had 6 bridesmaids, 6 groomsmen, 4 flower girls and 190 guests…needless to say it was such an amazing day, with so much laughter, some tears, bucket loads of happiness and blessings…a day never to be forgotten and will always be cherished.
