We met at high school when we were in grade 8 and starting dating the following year (1999).

From there onwards our relationship grew stronger and stronger...

...and 10 years down the line David proposed while we were on a cruise with some friends just off the coast of Mozambique.

Our 9 ½ month engagement period was full of great excitement as a result of us knowing that after a decade of dating we were finally reaching the point where we were going to be united forever!

The weeks before the wedding were, however, greeted with torrential rain pour which obviously didn’t help us rest easy as we had planned to marry under the open sky.

God however knew how much we could handle and rain was not one of those things...

...so on the actual day of the wedding we looked out to see sunshine and blue sky!

That morning was so unbelievable relaxed and things just ran smoothly.

There was much laughter and excitement all round.

The wedding ceremony and reception were being held at Ascot Conference Centre in Pietermaritzburg which was just the most amazing venue for an outdoor relaxed wedding.

We were blessed to have had 155 guests attend our big day but when it was time for me to walk down the isle, the only person I was focused on was my amazing husband to be!

A few tears were shed but they were overshadowed by our big smiles reflecting the excitement we felt within.

The service was beautiful, fun and completely us, which just helped to set the tone for the rest of the day.

The moment of becoming husband and wife came and went so fast...

...yet the festivities continued onto outdoor cocktails & wedding cake and then further more onto a sit down evening reception and dancing.

At the end of the day, when we were reflecting on everything that had happened...
