If reports are to be believed, the power couple has signed a R2.5 billion split deal after meeting a top divorce lawyer.
Legal papers, which the pair allegedly signed this week, reveal they plan to share their fortune equally and custody of their six children, a British newspaper reported.
The news comes after months of speculation that the couple, who are not married, were headed for a split.
Preparations for the break-up reportedly began in December when they visited a Los Angeles legal firm to carve out a deal dividing the property between them. According to reports, if Brangelina do split, their children will live with the actress. Brad and Angelina are expected to announced their break-up soon.
"The document was signed in early January. Both Brad and Angelina had signed it. It seemed clear they want the world to know they'll both play a part in the upbringing of the children. But Angelina will actually be the one who lives with them full-time," the newspaper quoted a source as saying.
"There's no date for when the contract would come into effect. But the paperwork is already organised for a break- up – and for it to be as unmessy for them as possible. It is clear it's a case of when they break up rather than if," the source added.
Stars blast split claim
But sources close to the couple claim that Brangelina will try to stay together. "Brad and Angelina have been pretty miserable for some months now. It's one of Hollywood's worst kept secrets," a source said.
"To all intents and purposes their relationship has turned into one of convenience, principally for the kids' sakes. But they still love each other and they will always put the children first so it seems unlikely they will separate any time soon. They would rather just muddle along. They both want to work at things though, and not just turn their backs on five years at the drop of a hat."
