Q.

Changes in my menstruation cycle

I'm a 30 year old married female. My first day of my last period was on 28 August. I was supposed to start my cycle again on 2 September, but I didn't. I was worried at first, but I waited a couple of days before I did a pregnancy test. I did a test a week and a half later, the results was negative. I was slightly disappointed, because we've been trying to fall pregnant now in the past year. November this year would be a year since I got off the pill and my last gyne visit was in March this year. He said that everything was fine and normal, except for the endometriosis. He also mentioned that I shouldn't be concerned now, but if I don't fall pregnant within a year, then I should come to see him. Well, I started my period 7 WEEKS LATER on 21 October. So my question to you is, "Is this normal and would you recommend that I go see the doctor immediately?" Please can you let me know, because I'm not sure what to think of this. Thank you

Clinical guidelines recommend that if after a year of unprotected and regular intercourse a couple do not fall pregnant, it is time to begin investigations - of both people of course. Do not let your fear get in the way of you and your partner seeking help. Rather know what's going on than worrying. When a couple want to fall pregnant it is a tense time and this can impact negatively on your entire relationship and life. You mention "endometriosis" . I am sure your Gynae will want to examine this further and see if this is an inhibiting factor to you falling pregnant. You can hear falling pregnant is not always easy. and not always possible or natural for every couple. Get your fertility seen to asap so you avoid worry.
