QUESTION

I'm 21yrs old and recently got back together with my ex boyfriend (25) whom I've known for 6yrs. Of that 6yrs we dated for the first 3yrs but then broke up because he started cheating on me. He has a 2yr old son with the woman he cheated on me with but he admits it was a mistake (he does love his son though...very much) and that he never loved her. He says it was a one-night stand and he was very drunk.

3yrs have passed now since then and all is forgiven. He has changed a lot (matured) and has confessed his undying love for me, BUT my parents aren't aware of the fact that I've taken him back and I'm afraid that once I tell them they'll forbid me to see him, which is understandable because the whole cheating incident really upset them. I really love my boyfriend but I know that being with him will disappoint my parents but I know that I will disappoint myself even more if I don't do what makes me happy. I don't want to hurt my parent's feelings, so how do I explain to them that I want to be with my boyfriend?

Please help, I'm very confused.
