Hope you can help me.
We have a patio swing set (made of aluminium and a type of canvas). The seat has perished in the sun and is now torn.
Who can I contact to repair this seat - I would think the fabric just needs to be replaced with some heavy duty weatherproof fabric, even shade cloth - Do I look for upholsterers or for carport installers. What fabric do I ask them for?

ANSWER
If there absolutely no way to take the frame apart so that the old canvas can be removed I'm sure it's going to be difficult to get anyone out to do the job as there isn't much money in it for them!
I might have come up with an alternative. Use a heavy-weave shade cloth or nylon sail cloth - you should be able to buy shade cloth from your local garden centre.
Get yourself an eyelet kit - this is normally the hoops and the punch - available from selected craft and hobby shops.
Once you've made the holes, use nylon twine to weave through and tie off. This will be more than strong enough, and easy to replace when it wears again.
