Hi Janice,
I need to buiild a deck and a pergola (roof), would you recommend building the pergola and roof first then finishing off with a deck which can neatly wrap around the posts?

ANSWER
Hi Sanja,
I would build the pergola first, as the posts need to be sunk into the ground and secured in a concrete footing. It's then easier and nicer to wrap the deck around the posts, as you mention.
