Project notes
We used 2m of fabric for each of the four
panels shown here. Fabric widths are standard
(this fabric measured 1 400mm across) and
we cut along the length to give four 2m x
700mm fabric panels.
The opening we covered was 1 750mm wide.
Start by measuring the width of the window
opening(s). Divide the measurement by four for
four panels, suspended from a double track
(1 750mm ÷ 4 = 437.5mm; we rounded it off
to 600mm as the panels should overlap when
they're slid shut, and should thus be an inch or
two broader). Then add the width of a single
panel to each side of the window and calculate
the overall length: 600mm + 1 750mm + 600mm
= 2 950mm, to get an indication of the lengths
of aluminium track required. We therefore needed
2 x 1 500mm (standard) lengths of double track.
