Extreme cover up
Vibracrete walls needn't be a thorn in your side. Here's how to cover them up for good.
|
Project notes
Our wall measured 1400mm
between the upright columns (85mm
wide) and 1800mm in height.
We constructed a series of simple
frameworks constructed from 38mm X
38mm treated pine, which were then
fixed within the recessed sections of
the vibracrete wall.
We raised our wall to 2m (previously
1800mm high)
by constructing frames taller than the
existing wall. Should you consider
doing this, be sure to first discuss it
with your neighbour.
Precast vibracrete walls, both
the upright columns as well as the
panels, contain stone chip, which is
embedded within. Should you hit a
stone when you are drilling your holes
(see step 2), you may have to move
your holes a little higher or lower.
