Originally from Austro-Hungarian Empire, apple strudel is now a tasty treat that the whole world enjoys. It consists of extremely thin phyllo pastry, which encases a concoction of apples, raisins, cinnamon, sugar and sometimes rum. The pastry is baked until golden brown in colour and is then served hot with icing sugar. Recently, cream has also become a popular topping.

Kneading the dough
It's important to knead the dough properly so that the gluten can develop. The dough has to be stretched out thinly before you can roll the filling up in it.
