Ingredients

 180 ml castor sugar
 45 ml cocoa powder
 30 ml water
 180 ml evaporated milk
 30 ml butter
 3 ml vanilla essence
 4 medium-sized bananas
 4 scoops vanilla ice cream

Steps 1 2 3 4

Step 1 Put sugar, cocoa and water in a small pan

Step 2 Add milk and stir until it starts boiling. Simmer gently for five minutes, then stir in butter and vanilla. Set aside to cool for about 10 minutes

Step 3 Peel and halve the bananas. Place two halves in each of four sundae dishes or side plates.

Step 4 Put a scoop of ice cream on top of each banana half. Pour chocolate sauce over, decorate with candy of your choice and serve.
